You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter. -Psalm 74:17
-
i let summer shed
the heaviness
of grief.
He let me rest
in the news
that I was new
i played
in the new york times
and digital paint
He spoke
about the saints
and the soft sand
and the rain
and us all banding together
in stormy weather.
He said
to look
toward the sea
that I might see
a reflection
of me
in the surf,
the eight year old girl
i had been searching for.
i found her singing
in the rain
by the sea,
trusting stains
had been washed clean.
she was playing
in the soft sand,
her hands surrendered
to His purposes,
waiting for His plan
of action
to come forth
in the stifling heat
of summer.
Amen.
